I’ve literally have had a similar breakthrough when Caitlyn Jenner´s magazine was showned to the world and I got really mad at some friends for sharing a hate blog of the cover. and it’s silly the idea of fighting for rights you were born with I mean they are as human as any straight person. Finally I wanted to thank you for making the video and I now it will inspire lots of people.
I love the message you give. I am a man that use to not understand the pain and struggles of others life styles and was ignorant to the fact that people are just that. PEOPLE! I still am confused on why marriage is so sacred to a part of society that is 95% hypercritical. I am looking forward to the day when all people have equal rights under our laws.

Hey, so I just watched your video about your brothers wedding. and firstly congratulations on that. But secondly, I just want to apologise on behalf of the Christian community for what the pastor said. I think a lot of the church has forgotten that at its heart Christianity is not about rules or even doing things “right” but its about loving people for who they are. So yeah sorry, and all the best in the future.

I had a long conversation with my fundamentalist brother five minutes ago. He’s still in the other room settling misunderstandings with my other brother. His extreme right beliefs caused a lot of hurt on all sides. We are working hard to bridge the misinformation continually taught by his church and others like it. All this came to a head over the weekend when, for the 20th year in a row, my presence at a family function caused half of them to not come or walk out. My simple act of exsisting is a horrible inconvenience for them. I made the mistake of assuming my brother supported this attitude in his children and their families. He’s evolved but they haven’t. Now the real work of communication begins. I refuse to let them think this behavior is ok. I am looking for a book that speaks to them on their level about their misconceptions but all I can find are books that deepen or twist those lies into more lies that pretend to be love.
Can any of you help me find something I can use to start this conversation with them? I need something that takes a different, realistic direction that doesn’t support their fantasies but gently corrects and educates without being threatening or overbearing. I want to be sensitive to their beliefs and not make demands. That’s their game, not mine. Any ideas are massively appreciated.
