A Program on Ex-Gay Ministries

AlanChambersTonight on OWN (Oprah Winfry Network) Lisa Ling is doing a followup on the Ex-Gay Ministries. Ex-Gay survivors confront the leader Alan Chambers about how his ministry is impacting Gays. Chambers himself has admitted that it hurts gays, and has shut the program down. This program sounds like it will be an eye opener for those who haven’t really understood what happens to Christian gays.

Our America on Thursday, June 20th at 10/9c.

  2. If only I had this channel through Shaw. Canada has UHC and marriage equality, but no decent TV packages. We do have the station, but it’s not on my options.

I am glad that this is being addressed again. There are still people out there who believe that you can cure homosexuality.

I’m sure segments will soon be up on Youtube. I had tears listening to the stories, and could feel the pain. Ling did a great job presenting this story.

As a former Christian and current lesbian – I struggled with my faith and sexuality. These people ruined so many lives, an apology (half assed at that) doesn’t quite cut it for me. You can read more of my opinion and story here: http://tolerantpeople.com/2013/06/20/in-gods-closet/

What did you think of the program?

      • sophist6 says:

Ono, I was never subjected to Exodus – although they were “recommended” by one of my Pastors. I have however met several people who did go through it and they are still gay and screwed up for life. Lots of kids commit suicide after their “ministry.”
